Living in a big city like Atlanta doesn’t exclude you from being able to buy a live Christmas tree.
There may not be a wooded area near condos in Atlanta, or a farm behind apartments in Sandy Springs, but just up the road in north Fulton County are a handful of places where folks can cut down and buy their own trees to decorate for the holidays.
Here are three spots in north Fulton County where you can get a real Christmas tree:
Hunter’s Christmas Tree Farm
Located at 14680 Wood Road in Milton, Hunter's has been selling Christmas trees to metro Atlanta folks for more than 20 years. It offers trees ranging from five to 11 feet tall. Prices vary on the size and type of tree, but complimentary hot chocolate and cookies are available while you shop and cut. Hunter's also sells a variety of wreaths, garland, tree stands and more. The farm is closed on Sundays, but is open 4 p.m. to dusk Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to dusk on Saturday.

Scottsdale Farms
The farm in Milton offers several services for customers — including landscaping, home decor and a garden center — but through Dec. 24 it sells Christmas trees too. Located at 15639 Birmingham Highway, it is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day of the week. Scottsdale also sells wreaths, mistletoe and more, and offers events, including an ornament-making class. Bottoms Christmas Tree Farm
This is just outside north Fulton County in Cumming, but Bottoms has been selling Christmas trees for more than 20 years. Located at 5880 John Burruss Road in Cumming, the farm is open from 3 p.m. to dusk Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to dusk on Saturday. It is closed on Sundays and operates through Dec. 23. The farm offers more than 2,000 trees to choose from, and its website says it "provides the saw, you provide the saw power."
