There’s a lot of excitement surrounding Avalon right now.

Last week, Mayor David Belle Isle unveiled plans for Alpharetta's version of the Beltline — the Alpha Loop — which would connect the mixed-use development to other city attractions.

And now an updated list of the retailers and restaurants set to open with its forthcoming expansion has been released. It includes a previously-unannounced boutique, South Moon Under.

The expansion, which will officially open to the public April 13, is set to double the already-huge Avalon in size. It will bring eight restaurants, 12 retailers, 276 residences and a 224,000-square-foot office tower, according to a Wednesday press release.

Both a final unnamed retailer and restaurant will be announced in April. That restaurant will open in The Hotel at Avalon, which will be connected to the conference center, in January 2018.

The Hotel at Avalon and the connected Alpharetta Conference Center are expected to open in January 2018.
