The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted at its April 17 regular meeting to accept a $20,000 donation from the Henry County Council on Aging to the county’s Senior Services department. The funds will be used to cover the cost of renovations for the lower level of the Locust Grove Event Center to make the space more user-friendly for senior center activities and programs.
The Council on Aging has been a primary support of Senior Services for more than 20 years and has been instrumental in providing for the start-up needs of each of the county’s four senior centers, according to a staff report.
