A Lawrenceville landscaper charged with bestiality and cruelty to children is being held without bond, the Gwinnett County Police Department said Tuesday.

Cruz Barrera-Lugo turned himself in to the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office on Monday night and is being held in the Gwinnett County Detention Center.

Barrera-Lugo had been seen engaging in a “lewd sexual act” with a client’s dog on Friday, according to a police report. The cruelty to children charge was added because the client’s nephew saw the lewd act.

Police are reviewing home surveillance footage to see if similar incidents had occurred in the past. Barrera-Lugo worked twice a week at the client’s home for nearly a year.
