Grayson is offering citizens the opportunity to remember and honor favorite veterans by adding a commemorative brick to Grayson’s Veterans Memorial. Commemorative bricks are $50 each and will be installed at scheduled times throughout the year. Orders are being taken now through April 1 for installation prior to Memorial Day.

Bricks are 4-inch by 8-inch with room for up to three lines of type with 20 characters each. With the purchase of a commemorative brick, residents may also purchase a 4-inch by 8-inch keepsake brick for home for $40, or a 1.5-inch by 3-inch ‘mini brick’ with the same inscription for $15.

The Grayson Veterans Memorial began as an Eagle Scout project for Kevin Brooks, of Boy Scout Troop 231. Since the completion of the project citizens and visitors have asked to purchase memorial bricks. In 2016, the city rededicated the memorial with the installation of more than 50 new bricks.
