Main Street Grayson is currently accepting applications for December Grayson Boost grants for small business owners and entrepreneurs with a valid business license in the city. Entrepreneurs who have a license, but not an actual storefront, and developers who are rehabilitating downtown buildings are also eligible to apply.

The grants are funded through Main Street Grayson by local businesses and residents that have provided more than $6,000 to fund the grants. Each member of this group committed to a minimum of $100 twice a year for 2016 and 2017.

Boost investment group members will select grant winners. Grants will be awarded in increments of $100, up to $1,000. Businesses can apply during each application cycle, but are only eligible to receive funding once per year.

Unlike a loan, grant money does not require repayment. Eligible uses for grants include signage, equipment, marketing and advertising, as well as interior or exterior renovations. Grants are not awarded for payroll, start-up or operational expenses, insurance or rent.
