Construction is to begin Sunday night and continue every day through next spring at one of the busiest interchanges on Ga. 400 north of the Perimeter – Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell.

The Georgia Department of Transportation will make improvements to the exit ramp from southbound Ga. 400 to Holcomb Bridge, and the entrance ramp from eastbound Holcomb Bridge to Ga. 400 south, according to an announcement from the city of Roswell. Weather permitting, the work is to be completed in April.

Crews will be working ‘round the clock seven days a week, but lane closures will occur only between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. and will be limited during the day Saturdays and Sundays, officials said.

The project will add a second right-turn lane from the southbound Ga. 400 exit ramp to westbound Holcomb Bridge, while the southbound on-ramp shoulder will be improved, and the existing median, extended by about 150 feet.

Also, the small concrete island will be modified at westbound Holcomb Bridge and Old Dogwood Road – the entrance to the Waffle House – and the far right lane will be converted from right-turn only to a shared through/right-turn lane.
