Road rage: Driver claims gun was pointed at him

A man called police after he says another driver pointed a gun at him on Roswell Road on May 19.

The man told police he was traveling northbound on Roswell Road when the driver behind him began honking his horn. The man admitted to police that he purposely took his foot off the accelerator and did this to upset the man honking his horn.

Shortly after, the man honking his horn – who was driving a Blue Toyota Camry – pulled alongside the other driver and pointed a gun at him that had a green beam attached to the top of it. Police have the tag number of the man who was driving the Camry.

‘I don’t want to have to kill you’

Police in Roswell responded to a call on May 16 after a 94-year-old woman said she was threatened over the phone. The woman told police she received a call around 10:50 a.m. that day and when she said “hello” a man on the other end said “I don’t want to have to kill you” and hung up.

The woman does not have caller ID and told police this is the first time it had happened to her.

Shots fired in Sandy Springs

Police responded to a scene on Saddle Ridge Drive just a bit after midnight on May 24 where they met with a white male resident who called police after he fired his weapon into the air twice.

The man told police that his dogs started barking and “going crazy” so he looked out his window to see what was up. The man saw a white male with a backpack on hiding in the bushes in front of his home and saw a dark vehicle on the street with the trunk open and someone in the driver’s seat.

He told police he walked outside and shined a flashlight into the bushes and the man with a backpack on approached him in “a hostile manner.” The resident says he asked the other man several times to stop and he never did. The resident said he “feared for his life” and fired two shots into the air.

The other man fled and the car sped off. Police have not filed charges or identified suspects.

Moped stolen

Sandy Springs police responded to a call on Brentwood Way on May 25 after a man called saying his moped was stolen.

The man said that, around 2 a.m. that morning, he saw four men pull up in a two-door gray pickup truck pull up in front of his home. He told police the men then grabbed the moped, lifted it off the ground, placed it in the bed of the truck and sped off.

Police issued a stolen vehicle BOLO and told the man they would try to find his moped.

‘I know where you work now’

An employee at the leasing office of the Radius at Sandy Springs called police on May 23 because she felt threatened. The employee said an unknown black female came into the office that day and was complaining, making obscene comments and becoming “irate.”

The employee became threatened when the complainer said, “I know where you work now. I’ll be back.” Police checked the apartment where the complainer was seen entering but there was no answer at the door. Police told the employee to call them if she returned.
