Roswell will rename a pair of facilities soon, and it is asking its residents for suggestions on the new names.

The city will rename Don White Park and The Arts Center on Fouts Road within the next few months.

Roswell's Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs Department is asking residents to fill out a survey on the renaming of the facilities by Oct. 15. Residents can do so by visiting roswellgov.com/RoswellRecNameSurvey.

Don White Park, located adjacent to Don White Memorial Park, runs along the Chattahoochee River. This park features a portion of the Roswell River Walk, two sand volleyball courts, outdoor exercise equipment and a boat launch onto the river.

The city notes that Don White Memorial Park will keep its name, but renaming the other park is needed to avoid confusion for public safety officials.

The Arts Center on Fouts Road is located just outside of East Roswell Park. The center is home to the Roswell Fine Arts Alliance, and other various programs, including clay and cuisine classes.

Citizen responses will be provided to the Roswell Recreation Commission, who will make a formal recommendation of facility names to the mayor and council at a future work session.
