The Fabulous Fox Theatre is about to get even more fabulous with its most significant expansion since the opening of the popular venue in 1929.

Officials announced a renovation of the 10,000 square-foot event space, which will include converting the former jazz club on the northwest corner of the building into a Moroccan-style premium guest lounge and adding two rooftop bars overlooking Peachtree Street.

Patrons will be able to enjoy food and beverage service in the lounge, access to private restrooms, concierge guest services and parking as part of membership-based admission, but there will also be general admission ticketing upgrade opportunities.

The new amenities are set to open late 2017, officials said.

Allan C. Vella, president and CEO of the Fox Theatre, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution the new expansion is an answer to the call for patrons to extend "The Fox Experience" to include dining.

"To be overlooking Atlanta’s legendary Peachtree Street, the marquee lights blinking and guests readying for a night to remember . . . what a wonderful way to spend an evening out," Vella said.

Vella said they are in the final stages of securing a name for the premium lounge.

Additional details, including membership rates and ticket upgrades are still in early planning stages, but officials said the memberships will available to purchase beginning in January 2017.
