Forsyth County high school students earned an average SAT score of 1167 this year, the highest score in Georgia for 2018 and well above state and national average scores, district officials announced.

State and national SAT scores for 2018, by way of comparison, were 1054 and 1049, respectively. A total of 2,206 Forsyth students took the SAT this tear, scoring 589 in the reading/writing section and 578 in the math section.

All five Forsyth high schools exceeded the state and national average; four increased their scores from last year; and three — Lambert (7), South Forsyth (13) and West Forsyth (29) — were among the top 30 high schools reporting the highest SAT scores in the state.

Elsewhere in metro Atlanta, Fayette County reported an average SAT score of 1142; Cherokee, 1122; Cobb, 1107; Gwinnett, 1102; Fulton, 1091; DeKalb, 998; Atlanta City, 997; and Clayton, 962. Information: https://bit.ly/2Rfop3w
