At their first meeting of the year Friday, Jan. 4, members of the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners elected their officers for 2019.

District 5 Commissioner Laura Semanson was elected chairman; District 4 Commissioner Cindy Jones Mills, vice chairman; and District 2 Commissioner Dennis Brown, secretary.

The Forsyth County Board is made up of five commissioners, each elected by voters of their respective districts to serve a four-year term. The commissioners elect officers for the coming year in January.
