In 2010, Akeem Ryshi Lee was found not guilty of murder after authorities accused him of taking part in a robbery that left the victim dead, ultimately over $20.

Now, DeKalb County police are accusing Lee, a 25-year-old Lithonia resident, of killing a man in a wild, roving shooting that spanned three scenes in mid-March.

Lee is charged with murder in the death of Nicholas Moton, 28, who was found dead in a Jeep that had left the road and smashed into a tree off Snapfinger Woods Drive, according to a warrant.

Details about the March 21 shooting, which also injured two people, remain few.

Police said they have also charged a pair of 18-year-old twin brothers, who allegedly were in a car involved in the shooting but lied about it to officers. One of the brothers was among the shot.

Police have said the case may have been related to a drug deal.

Officers were called to the 700 block of Creste Drive, where they found a man shot in a building breezeway.

“The victim stated he had been walking along Snapfinger Woods Drive when four males in a white car tried to rob him,” DeKalb police spokeswoman Shiera Campbell said last month. “When he ran, they shot him.”

At Snapfinger Woods Drive and Shellbark Drive, police found Moton dead in the white Jeep.
