The wait is over: A brick-and-mortar ThinkGeek exists in Georgia for the first time.

Luckily for Atlantans — and even luckier for Gwinnettians — it is located at the Mall of Georgia.

The grand opening will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m Friday, according to the Facebook page.

ThinkGeek is a longstanding commerce website that now has physical locations in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, New York and Texas. Patrons will be able peruse pop culture and collectible items including movies, games, books, toys, trading cards and music.

The 2,128-square-foot space will be located on the Mall of Georgia's lower level between Belk and the food court, according to a news release.

The first 1,000 guests at the opening will receive a free limited edition pin. Prizes will be given out. Cosplay is welcome in the store. (Note: masks and props are not invited in the rest of the mall).

There will also be a sale.

Other upcoming openings at the Mall of Georgia include Charleys Philly Steaks, the second location of the live room escape game Paranoia Quest and Aliño Pizzeria"a true Napoletana pizzeria with techniques and ingredients pulled from the best of Italy," according to a news release. Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill opened in August

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
