No injuries were reported Tuesday in a predawn house fire in southeast Atlanta.

Fire crews found heavy smoke coming from the one-story frame house on Claire Drive near Lakewood Avenue around 6:30 a.m., according to Atlanta fire Battalion Chief Todd Parker.

Parker told the AJC that no one was at home, and the fire was confined to the interior of the house, which is a few blocks from the old Lakewood Fairgrounds.

One firefighter slipped from a ladder, “but is fine,” Parker said.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
