Good news if you keep “forgetting” to return that copy of “Fifty Shades of Grey” or “Fast and Furious” DVD you checked out of the DeKalb library months ago:
All is forgiven.
Well, almost all. The DeKalb County Public Library's Fine Forgiveness program will waive the first $10 owed in fines and fees on overdue, lost or damaged materials, and a fifty percent discount on the remaining balance of $100 or less (Owe more than $100? Call Library Administration at 404-508-7190 and they'll help you out).

The three-week amnesty program starts Monday, April 3 and runs through April 23. And it covers all manner of sin, er, materials:
"Don't be embarrassed to bring in those long overdue books, CDs, DVDs and other items--even if they are old," said Library Director Alison Weissinger. "Many long overdue materials are still valuable and can be put back into the collection and used again." Related video: Overdue library book is finally returned
Patrons seeking fine forgiveness must visit a DeKalb library branch in person and pay the entire amount owed after the $10 waiver and discount. Find additional information at www.dekalblibrary.org/amnesty.
