Falcons great, mascot visiting Gwinnett school for pep rally

Thanks to students’ good behavior, an Atlanta Falcons great and Freddie Falcon will pay a visit to Arcado Elementary, Gwinnett County Public Schools said.

Chuck Smith, a legendary defensive end, will visit the Lilburn school on Friday, accompanied by the Falcons' mascot. The students earned the visit through Arcado's Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports program, intended to promote good behavior and academic performance in students.

Students, faculty and staff will wear red and black in honor of the football team. Smith will lead two morning pep rallies in support of the Falcons in advance of their Sunday game against the Dallas Cowboys, which will be played at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
