Two people are facing murder charges in connection with the shooting death of a man outside a Buckhead shopping center, police said Wednesday.

Kristy Forrester and Robert Scott are accused in the June killing of Derrick Dukes, 45, of Atlanta, police said.

Police are still investigating the incident, but they believe Forrester and Scott knew Dukes at the time of the shooting outside Piedmont Peachtree Crossing, a shopping center that is home to a Kroger and other retailers and across the street from the Terminus building on Piedmont Road.

Dukes was found with multiple gunshot wounds near a Mercedes shortly after witnesses heard fighting, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.

Forrester and Scott remain in the Fulton County jail.
