We’ve all been there.

You’re sitting at a family function and your grandpa — or your mom, aunt, uncle, whoever — just got a new phone. You happen to be the closest millennial sitting by, so they ask you to teach them how to text, tweet, take photos, use Facetime, set up their e-mail, and — oh look, an hour has gone by.

Roswell hopes to take this task off its younger residents’ hands by offering an Apple iPhone basics class at its adult recreation center in June.

Bluehair Technology, which is leading the sessions, says the class aims to teach people how to get started with an iPhone, and how to get the most out of it. The training will teach users how to make a call, how to search the internet, how to take a photo and a few other tips and tricks.

The class is over four days, taking place each Tuesday morning in June from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The class costs $40 and you can register by emailing nancy@bluehairtech.org or by calling 770-696-9808.

Roswell’s Adult Recreation Center is located at 830 Grimes Bridge Road.

For more information, visit bluehairtech.org/classes. Bluehair is offering other tech classes in the coming months in Atlanta, Alpharetta and Cumming.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
