Following a public hearing Jan. 8, the Duluth City Council voted to allow Speedway LLC to withdraw “without prejudice” a request to build a new convenience store at the northeast corner of Rogers Bridge Road and Buford Highway.

The proposed convenience store with fuel pumps on about two acres is currently zoned as a highway commercial retail district. Reaction from the nearby residential community does not support a gas station at this location. By allowing Speedway to withdraw “without prejudice” the company can reapply for a more suitable project within a short amount of time.
