Duluth’s renews employee health, dental insurance

The Duluth City Council voted recently to approve renewal of the employee medical and dental insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield. Thanks primarily to a low claims paid to premium ratio the city’s health insurance provider, Blue Cross Blue Shield, is offering a zero increase premium renewal. Blue Cross Blue Shield is offering a 5.08 percent dental insurance premium renewal increase.

The city’s life and disability policies are two-year policies and will be up for renewal next year. During the presentation, Duluth’s staff reported the city’s employees are very satisfied with the current providers.
