Opening for the Doraville Municipal Swimming Pool, located in Flowers Park, 5921 New Peachtree Road (across the street from the Doraville MARTA station), has been re-scheduled to June 3.

“Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, including some DeKalb water issues, the pool opening is being delayed,” says Mayor Donna Pittman. “City staff has been working diligently to get the pool ready, but the issues and recent rainy weather created setbacks.

Visitors this year will be treated to added amenities as a result of the recent $1.7 million park renovation that included new landscaping throughout the park, additional picnic tables and pavilion areas, brand new decking around the pool and an updated pool house. The renovation was approved by the Doraville City Council as part of the city’s Master Parks & Recreation Plan and managed by Rip Robertson, Doraville public works and parks director.

Pool hours: 1- 8 p.m. Mondays, closed Tuesdays, 1 – 7 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, noon – 7 p.m. Saturdays, 2 – 6 p.m. Sundays.
