Dick’s Sporting Goods hiring 97 seasonal workers in metro Atlanta

Dick's Sporting Goods (DKS) stock price surged by as much as 27 percent after it reported stronger than expected quarterly sales and profit after it stopped selling assault-style rifles in the aftermath of the Parkland school shooting.

Like sports and need some extra holiday cash? Dick’s Sporting Goods is hiring almost 100 seasonal workers to handle the annual influx of shoppers.

The company is holding its own “National Signing Day” on Oct. 24.

Potential workers are encouraged to apply online in advance and show up to one of 10 metro Atlanta stores next Wednesday to be interviewed and potentially land a job, according to a company press release.

The Atlanta-area stores participating are:

• Alpharetta

• Lenox Square (Atlanta)

• Perimeter Pointe (Sandy Springs)

• Mall of Georgia (Buford)

• Canton

• Cumming

• Fayetteville

• Kennesaw

• Newnan

• Norcross
