Deputies in Clayton County were cracking jokes Friday after they arrested a man in connection with the armed robbery of a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant.

Rhayven Demarcus Smith was jailed after allegedly forcing employees with a knife to empty three of the cash registers, Clayton County sheriff’s officials said in a news release.

The incident happened Thursday at a KFC in Lovejoy.

Immediately after the robbery, Smith allegedly ran to his car with the cash and deputies chased him.

The pursuit ended in the parking lot of the Store Here Self Storage on Highway 138 in Riverdale when the deputies involved boxed in Smith's car so he couldn’t escape.

In the department’s release, deputies joked that Smith wouldn’t be getting any “finger licking good” chicken as a takeout order while incarcerated.
