Brookhaven police are warning residents after a local urgent care doctor and a friend are believed to have died of cocaine laced with fentanyl, the deathly potent narcotic.
The friend, a 35-year-old Nancy Virginia Brock, was found first, on Aug. 27, police said on Friday, announcing the autopsy findings. She had been dead in the garage of her North Thompson Road home for several days.
The next morning the 41-year-old doctor, Raul Rodon, was found in his home on Buckhead Lane. He had been dead in an upstairs bedroom for days, police said.
Attempts to reach their families were unsuccessful Friday.

At both scenes, police found bags of what they thought was cocaine. Their autopsies showed the drug had been laced with fentanyl, a narcotic whose potential to kill dwarfs heroin and morphine.
Fentanyl is commonly paired with heroin, a mix that, like fentanyl itself, has killed scores of Georgians in recent years.
Now that it’s been found in Brookhaven laced with cocaine, police want the public to be aware of the dangers.
“It crosses all barriers, financial, race, it doesn’t matter,” Det. Camella Patterson told Channel 2 Action News. “One time could be your last time.”
