Questions remain after Atlanta Falcons legend Roddy White tweeted frustrations about a DeKalb County officer's behavior in a traffic stop.
"We have not investigated the incident since no complaint has been filed," Maj. Stephen Fore told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Friday morning.
But Fore defended the procedure the officer allegedly used by placing his hand on his gun during the stop. That was the source of White's frustration, which he aired on Twitter, saying he felt he "could've died."
"The action of an officer placing his hand on or across the weapon is not inappropriate," Fore said. "It is part of the officer’s training in officer safety and weapon retention."

White was pulled over Wednesday afternoon on I-285. Fore said he was cited for driving 90 mph and driving with an expired tag.
White said he expected to get tickets, but was unnerved by the officer putting his hand on his gun as he approached White's vehicle.

"On his gun like I was going to do something to him," White wrote, saying he intended to report the officer. "It's cops like you that makes this world a very ugly place its a good thing I already had all my information to give him or I could've died."
The regular Pro-Bowler, who was cut in 2015 following 11 seasons with the Falcons, said he wants to report the officer to "save the next black man's life."
