The city of Decatur is taking steps to prepare for the forecast snow and ice.

The fire department has set up its Station 1 as a “warming station” for residents in need. Also, all activities at Decatur Recreation and Ebster Recreation centers have been cancelled Saturday and Sunday, according to the city.

Decatur’s public works vehicles have been inspected and readied to respond.

The city is encouraging seniors or vulnerable residents in need of heat or a blanket to contact the fire station at 404-373-5092.
