Atlanta police have put out an alert for an “armed and dangerous” 42-year-old man who allegedly kidnapped, robbed and assaulted a woman he was angry with because she didn’t want to date him.

At about 11 p.m. March 9, Jerrell Berger abducted the woman and drove her around the Atlanta area, police said. He is accused of using a handgun to beat her in the face, causing serious damage.

Berger tried to get the woman to drive down a dark road, and she refused, police said. He then allegedly took the victim’s keys and cell phone and fled.

Police described the suspect as a black man, 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing 210 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Anyone who has information on him is asked to call Atlanta Crime Stoppers, 404 577-8477.
