A man was forced to take a ride in his own car before being robbed in broad daylight, Sandy Springs police say.

A suspect with a silver handgun allegedly approached the victim in his driveway on Spalding Creek Court, ordered him into the passenger seat of the victim’s car and drove him to a nearby ATM.

After the victim withdrew cash, the suspect, who was described as being in his late 20s, fled in the vehicle.

The vehicle was later found in Lithonia and a female passenger was detained for questioning, according to a press release.

The investigation is ongoing and photos were not available. Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Kasey Smith at 770-551-3313.
