A man tried to rob one person and carjack another at a Milton apartment complex last week, police say. That man is also accused of attempting a carjacking in Sandy Springs in January.

In Milton, 22-year-old Devante Colestone allegedly demanded one victim’s cell phone and then chased him when he ran away, Channel 2 Action News reports.

During the chase, Colestone demanded another man get out of his car, according to Captain Charles Barstow. The driver got away.

“We were able to glean enough by talking to various people over at the complex to make the charges we needed to,” Barstow told the television station.

The complex is off of McGinnis Ferry Road.

Colestone is also accused of trying to steal the car of another man, Taylor Scott, outside bowling alley Stars and Stripes Sandy Springs in January.

The suspect allegedly threatened to kill Scott if he didn’t give up his keys, but police intervened after Scott chased Colestone to a nearby gas station.

“I hope the judge sees what a danger he is to society and keeps him in jail,” Scott told Channel 2.
