Gwinnett County police are searching for a man who has stolen at least three valuable pieces of jewelry from area department stores.

The suspect asks sales associates to show him expensive pieces of jewelry and runs away with them once the associate lets him hold the items, police said.

He took two chain necklaces from a Macy’s at the Mall of Georgia and a diamond engagement ring from a Buford Kohl’s. The chains were worth $5,000 combined and the ring was worth $2,500, police said.
