The city of College Park recently announced several initiatives, including clarifying proper yard waste collection instructions.

The city’s department of public works is producing a flyer offering instructions for proper disposal of items such as grass clippings and tree trimmings for weekly and bi-weekly collection, the city said. The flyers are going into monthly bills and the updates are also being broadcast on College Park TV-23.

In addition, College Park announced the following work:

  • Sewer mapping software. Staff members from information technology, engineering and public works are in the process of getting a new software package that will allow the city to store all relevant information about sewer location and plotting, called sewer mapping, into a secure database.
  • Track resurfacing. The Bill Badgett Stadium track has been resurfaced. During the $157,000 work, which the city paid for, Woodward Academy allowed the College Park Favor House Track Club to use its track as a temporary training facility.
