Three Cobb County Department of Transportation (CCDOT) projects were recognized for their designs at the annual Georgia Partnership for Transportation Quality Preconstruction Design Awards during the 2018 Georgia Transportation Summit held Nov. 9 in Athens.

The American Council of Engineering Companies of Georgia and the Georgia Department of Transportation announced CCDOT consultant Arcadis U.S. Inc. as the winner in the categories of “Context Sensitive Planning and Design including Public Participation Plan” and “Traffic Safety and/or Intersection Design” for the Concord Road Covered Bridge rehabilitation and the South Barrett Reliever roundabout, respectively.

For “Highway Design - Urban,” CCDOT consultant Heath & Lineback Engineers Inc. was honored for its work on Interstate North Parkway and Interstate North Circle roadway and pedestrian improvements.

These awards recognize engineering consultants and firms for exemplary work, innovation and ingenuity in transportation and infrastructure projects across Georgia, according to a county statement.
