The Cobb County Board of Commissioners agreed recently to install a 911 dispatch center and three Cobb Police workstations in SunTrust Park for a cost of $189,208.

Cobb County Public Safety and the Atlanta Braves have identified this need to more quickly dispatch and respond to calls in and around the stadium during events, according to Cobb Public Safety Director Sam Heaton.

“This will decrease the chance of overloading our current 911 Center,” Heaton added.

The Braves will be required to maintain the equipment and will pay the initial bill, said Sherri Kell, county spokeswoman.
