Chamblee cops seek help ID’ing man killed carrying ‘homeless’ sign

Chamblee police are asking for the public’s help in identifying an apparently homeless man who was carrying a sign pleading for assistance when he was hit by a vehicle and killed Wednesday night.

The man was hit just before 8 p.m. while trying to cross Peachtree Industrial Boulevard at Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Chamblee police Capt. Ernesto Ford said.

Ford said the man is white and between 40 to 50 years old. He had on a yellow T-shirt, khaki cargo shorts, tan and white Adidas low-top shoes and carried a cardboard sign which read, “Please Help Recently Homeless Hungry.”

He asked anyone who might have any information on the man or the incident to call investigators at 470-395-2413 or 470-395-2419.
