A driver was critically injured Tuesday afternoon when his car struck a school bus in DeKalb County, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The incident happened about 2:33 p.m. at Pleasantdale Road and Lynnray Drive, the station reported. The car hit the bus, which was carrying approximately 60 students, as it was making a left turn onto Pleasantdale.

DeKalb County Schools said 15 children on the bus were taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston as a precautionary measure. The bus was carrying students from Pleasantdale Elementary.

The driver of the car is in critical condition and was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

The incident is under investigation.
