A 6-year-old girl is dead and the father, mother and another child were taken to a hospital after a fire in Douglas County on Thursday, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The fire was at a home in the 6100 block of North Sweetwater Road in Lithia Springs, the news station reported.

The cause of the fire, which began about 1:30 p.m., is not known.

“A fire investigator with my office found nothing suspicious about the blaze,” said

Glenn Allen, spokesman for the state insurance and safety fire commissioner's office. “Hopefully he will get to speak with the injured family members in the coming days to help determine the cause.”

The names of the 6-year-old and the injured family members have not been released.
