The first day of the three-day Southern Highlands Cycling Race will see street closures in downtown Woodstock the evening of March 2, city officials advise.

Market, Hickory, Paden and Mill streets will be closed from about 6:30 to 10:30 p.m., officials said. Access to the parking deck at Walton Communities will be allowed at certain intervals during the race.

Set-up for the event will begin at roughly noon that day. The evening events will be the Men's & Women's Pro criterium prologue, according to the Southern Highlands website; the women's event starts at 7 p.m., and the men's, at 8:20 p.m. Clean-up will conclude around midnight.

In between, there will be live race announcements and an infield watch party with Reformation Brewery craft beer and food trucks. “Woodstock encourages residents and guests to plan accordingly and expect travel delays in this area,” officials said.

Additional weekend events will take place in Ball Ground: A Stage 1 time trial and Stage 2 circuit race March 3, and a Stage 3 road race March 4. Information: www.toshsr.com.
