The Austell City Council approved the 2017-18 budget Monday with no tax increases.

In effect July 1 through June 30, 2018, the budget totals $7,144,299 with no salary increases, said Finance Director Denise Soesbee.

The budget does include a 25 percent increase in health care to become effective Jan. 1, an increase of $242,000 in repairs, maintenance, general supplies and materials and a reserve of around $13,000.

Revenues are anticipated to increase by $255,000 over this present year from gas system franchise fees, business licenses, fines and forfeitures, property taxes, motor vehicle taxes and insurance premium taxes.

No one spoke during Monday’s second and final public hearing on the budget or during the first public hearing in May.
