Atlanta finance committe to consider APS donation

A donation to the Atlanta Public Schools system during National Book Drive Month is among the proposed items on Atlanta city council’s finance/executive committee agenda for its 1 p.m. July 26 meeting at Atlanta City Hall, 55 Trinity Ave., in committee room 1. The ordinance is by post 1 at-large city councilman Michael Julian Bond.

The $1,500 donation from the post 1 at-large carry forward account to the school system, would fund a prize of $500 each to the elementary, middle and high schools that collectS the most book donations during a National Book Drive Month contest held by APS. Bins will be available at various schools in the district for drop-offs of new or gently used books.
