Gwinnett County police have captured a man who escaped from Eastside Medical Center nearly two weeks ago while under arrest.

Kevin Dawkins, 27, had been arrested on suspicion of cocaine possession on Sept. 5. He was shocked with a stun gun after he “became non-compliant” with officers, police said.

After being hit with the stun gun, Dawkins began falling in and out of consciousness and police brought him to Eastside Medical Center in Snellville. He fled the hospital around 8:45 p.m. Sept. 5.

Dawkins was captured on the afternoon of Sept. 15. He faces charges of possession of a schedule II drug, obstruction and escape. Further information on Dawkins’ arrest was not immediately available.
