Alpharetta has arranged for about 75 temporary downtown parking spaces to make up for parallel parking lost when parts of the recently started City Center development were fenced off.

The City Council approved an agreement with a nearby property owner, Old Roswell St. LLC, in which the city will pay $94,488 to construct a parking lot next to Old Roswell’s Liberty Hall Development, a six-story mixed-use building at 33 S. Main St.

The lot will provide public parking and a staging area for the Liberty Hall project, according to a staff report to Council. The developer has the right to designate 10 spaces for its own use.

The lease is for up to six years. If terminated prior to three years, the developer is to reimburse the city for the cost of parking improvements on a pro-rated basis.
