A woman accused of dragging a Woodstock police officer with her car was arrested Wednesday in Marietta, officials said.

The officer responded to a shoplifting call about 2:15 p.m. at the Kohl’s department store on Highway 92 in Woodstock, police spokeswoman Brittany Duncan said.

When the officer approached the woman, identified as Amy Ridge of Marietta, she was already in her car. Instead of stopping, Ridge drove off and dragged the officer “for a distance,” Duncan said.
