An alleged member of the MS-13 gang has been arrested in Gwinnett County on a murder warrant originating in Prince William County, Virginia, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced.

Hector Amaya-Gamez is being held at the Gwinnett County Detention Center, awaiting extradition to Virginia. ICE arrested him Sunday at a gas station during a targeted operation by deportation officers and the U.S. marshals.

Amaya-Gamez is believed to have entered the U.S. without authorization, though ICE said it does not know how long he has been in the country. The agency will seek Amaya-Gamez’s removal from the U.S. after any prison sentence he may have to serve, it said in a release.

Further details about the murder charge Amaya-Gamez faces were not immediately available from ICE.
