One of the suspects in a brazen I-20 shooting that left a teenager dead in the middle of rush-hour traffic could soon be released from the DeKalb County jail.

Avery Price, 24, of Lithonia was granted a $250,000 bond on Monday by Superior Court Judge Daniel M. Coursey Jr., according to court records obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Price has yet to post the bond. Jail records indicate he’s also wanted in Muscogee County on a possession of marijuana charge and in Henry County on a probation violation related to a traffic matter.

Coursey approved his release from DeKalb assuming he wears an ankle monitor and has no contact with co-defendants or the victim’s family.

On June 7, bullets pierced the windshield of 19-year-old Jonathan Williams' 2009 Chevrolet Malibu as he drove down I-20. It was about 5:30 p.m. Williams died at the scene.

At least one witness saw a man pointing a gun out of the window of the suspect’s car, firing at Williams’ car near Panola Road, according to a report.

Williams' family told media after the shooting they suspected he'd been targeted, but they couldn't say why.

Price’s alleged role hasn’t been released. Nor has a motive.

Four people in total face murder charges in Williams’ death.
