Jose Torres is accused of killing a man with a gunshot to the face when he was 16 years old.

On Tuesday, Torres’ 17th birthday, he was booked in the DeKalb County jail on a murder charge in the June 20 killing, records show.

Warrants released Thursday say Torres, a Brookhaven resident, shot Tommy Jackson while stealing cash from him in the area of Avenues Eightyfive Apartment Homes. The complex is on Northeast Expressway off I-85 in unincorporated DeKalb.

Court records show two other men, Juan Moulier, 26, and Tyrone Roberts, 49, also have been charged with murder in the case.

The documents don’t reveal why the trio allegedly chose the victim.
