The City of Sugar Hill will break ground today on a 30,000-square-foot development it hopes will anchor its developing downtown.

The city’s EpiCenter project east of City Hall will feature a 350-seat community theater, a gym, shops, offices and restaurants. The city also recently revamped its amphitheater behind City Hall.

The public projects have sparked interest from several developers that could bring $300 million in investment to downtown Sugar Hill in coming years.

Among the other projects in the works:

*JWM Ventures will soon break ground on an upscale hotel and conference center within walking distance of the EpiCenter.

*Macauley Investments plans to build condos and upscale apartments downtown.

*Trinity Lifestyles Management is building a senior lifestyle facility with retail shops on nearby Ga. 20.
