Even though State Farm already plans to build several office towers in Dunwoody, the company could receive tax incentives worth $48.6 million.

Construction of the first State Farm office buildings near Perimeter Mall is already nearly complete, and two more would go up next.

The site’s developer, Dallas-based KDC, says the tax incentives will speed up the project by breaking ground on its next phase in 2017 instead of 2019.

Critics say the tax breaks are nothing more than a handout for a company that has already committed to its Dunwoody expansion.
