Gwinnett County will spend $219,000 to study transportation improvements in the Gwinnett Village area of Norcross under a plan approved by the Board of Commissioners Tuesday.

Commissioners agreed to help pay for a study analyzing road improvements, bicycle and pedestrian paths, transit and other options to improve transportation along Satellite Boulevard and Brook Hollow Parkway. The study will cost an estimated $251,000, with the Gwinnett Village Community Improvement District picking up the remainder of the cost.

The county’s share of the study will be paid for with proceeds from a 2009 special local option sales tax.
