Gwinnett approves $5.9 million for Rock Springs Park

May 17, 2016

The Gwinnett Board of Commissioners Tuesday approved plans for a $5.9 million expansion of Rock Springs Park near Lawrenceville.

The 113-acre park near the I-85/I-985 intersection will get a new entrance, a new soccer field, a concession/restroom building, a playground, dog parks, relocated trails and additional parking. The project also includes a new sewer connection, utility relocations, lighting and landscaping.

Commissioners awarded a contract to do the work to Astra Group Inc. Funding for the project comes from a voter-approved 2009 special sales tax for construction projects.
